Mouse infusion and sampling systems
Long-term access in mice, at mouse scale
The constraint in mouse work is not the protocol, it is the hardware. A catheter with the wrong wall profile kinks at the exit site. A harness heavier than a gram changes behavior. A connector that needs a special needle costs you time on every access.
Our mouse line is built around three things: a stepped catheter that is flexible at the tip and manageable at the exit, a solvent-polished tip that enters the vessel cleanly, and a harness light enough to be worn for the length of a study.
Catheters
MouseCath polyurethane and silicone catheters use a stepped design: a small flexible tip where it enters the vessel, a thicker wall where it exits. The tip is solvent polished for vessel-friendly insertion. Same thermoplastic polyurethane used in human catheters, so materials stay consistent with your clinical work.
- Solvent polished tip
- Large ID/OD ratio
- Smooth polyurethane ID and OD
- Kink resistant
| Product | Materials | Sizes | Length | Connector | Part no. |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| MouseCath Jugular | Polyurethane / silicone | 1 Fr, 2 Fr | 15 cm | CoilConnect plug | MCJ1 / MCJ2 |
| MouseCath Femoral | Polyurethane / silicone | 1 Fr | 15 cm | CoilConnect plug | MCF1 |

Harness
FastTether Micro is optimized for long-term use in mice. Conventional luer connection, and it runs with a CoilCath Huber set.
| Product | Materials | Height | Size | Weight | Connector | Part no. |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| FastTether Micro | Plastic, silicone | 9 mm | 10 × 10 mm | approx 1.0 g | 21 ga | FTM |
| FastTether Micro tether | Stainless, PE, PC | n/a | 8″ | 12 g | 22 ga | FTMTL |
Pump and tubing
Use an ambulatory syringe pump for the lowest volume and shortest extension line possible. For labs building their own catheters, 1 French and 2 French polyurethane and silicone bulk tubing is available: PU1, PU2, S1, S2.
Other access routes
Vascular access is the common case. These are built to protocol for mouse work on the same catheter platform.
- CSF and intrathecal. CSF collection and CNS dosing, built to the route
- Duodenal. Enteral dosing and absorption work
- Bile. Bile duct cannulation for collection studies
- SubQ, IP and urinary. Subcutaneous, intraperitoneal and urinary configurations on request
